"A haunting skeleton on heavenly wings"

This piece is unique among most of my work. I tend to do hand-drawn illustration with digital color or effects. Photo-manipulation is an arena I rarely venture into, but this one came to me so fluidly. I keep a half-size skeletal model next to my drawing table for reference.

One day, while doing preliminary sketches for an angel/devil piece, I looked over at the skeleton, and just saw this image in my head. I tend to do a lot of thinking on the paper, and quite a few sketches before I have an illustration composition I’m happy with, so when a finished piece lands in my lap, or head, rather, why look a gift horse in the mouth.
